<p>The Stephen Low Company is pleased to announce that &#8220;Rocky Mountain Express&#8221; has been awarded &#8220;Best Film Short Subject&#8221; and &#8220;Best Cinematography&#8221; by the Giant Screen Cinema Association. The top awards were voted on by giant screen theaters from around the world and were announced and presented at the GSCA 2012 annual conference in Sacramento, California. </p>
<p>Filmmaker Stephen Low was on hand to receive the award for Best Film together with Director of Photography Mark Poirier accepted the award for Best Cinematography on behalf of the cinematography team (Mark Poirier, Ralph Mendoza and Stephen Low). In a first-ever tie, Rocky Mountain Express received top honours for Best Film concurrently with the 3D film &#8220;To the Arctic&#8221;, a MacGillivray Freeman Films release.</p>
<p>Rocky Mountain Express is currently exhibiting as the feature attraction in IMAX theaters in leading museums and science centers across North America and has begun exhibition in Europe as well. A huge hit with audiences, the film propels audiences on a steam train journey through the breathtaking vistas of the Canadian Rockies and highlights the adventure of building a nearly impossible transcontinental railway.</p>
<p>Rocky Mountain Express weaves together spectacular IMAX aerial cinematography, archival photographs and maps, and the potent energy and rhythms of a live steam locomotive to immerse audiences in this remarkable story from the age of steam.</p>
